“I want readers to feel like I take their money as seriously as they do.”

As a journalist who reviews and recommends products, often expensive ones, that’s been my guiding principle from the beginning. That goes for someone shopping for $1,000 business laptop or a $25 game controller. It’s been my philosophy across my time at CNET, where I was an Editorial Director for many years; at Gizmodo, where I served as Editor-in-Chief; and now as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief at iconic tech retailer Micro Center.

I attended my first E3 show in 1999. My first CES in 2004. And I’ve been writing about technology, gaming, media, and related topics ever since.

This newsletter gives me a chance to talk a little more about the direct effect our consumer choices have and where product design is leading us and leading the modern workplace.

But more importantly, it’s a place to explore the larger challenges faced by the media industry as AI and other new technologies destroy the business models publishers have relied on for decades.

I try and publish roughly bi-weekly, but only post when there’s something interesting to say. So, please subscribe and share with friends or on social media.
